Hi, new here but I've been lurking awhile. I have b/g twins about to turn 2. We have a live-out nanny M-F 8-4:30 pm. I have been working M/W/F 7-4 for the past 6 mths (was SAHM 0-12, then 1-2 days/week 12-18mths). DH works M-F, 9-7(8...9... depending on the day). Both executives but his position trumps mine (I'm ok with that and have flexibility when kids are sick etc)
My question is...at what point does a housekeeper become more valuable than a nanny? Once we get potty trained I am seriously considering daycare M/W/F and dropping the nanny (then being with them on my own Tues/Thurs)...but still thinking things over and of course need transition time.
My nanny is great with the kids but prefers to spend all her time on them and is doing less and less around the house when they nap, etc. Of course they should be her first priority but I'm finding that laundry, groceries, housekeeping in general is where we have the biggest "hole" right now. As kids get older she will not be willing to take on less childcare and more housework.
Sorry for the long post - just looking to learn from others' experiences. Cheers!
