I definitely agree with #2 (and #4 for that matter).  I tried explaining to a coworker last year that if she was so worried about having milk she should by the canned or powdered kind, and she didn't understand why.  Power outage + milk =/= a good thing.

You can freeze milk. If you keep the freezer shut, it will stay cold enough for a couple days if you lose power. It's not going to stink any worse than anything else at that point. 

But yes, canned or powdered would be better in case of a long term outage. 

 

But what's the point if you're going to freeze it?  Will the country's supply of milk be gone after Stormageddon, never to return? 

Is milk that much of a survival requirement that powdered won't do?

I don't get it. 

I'll be stocking up on milk today. But we go through 1/2 gallon a day and are almost out. I'll try to get the juice box style milk boxes but otherwise I'll take my chances on regular. Canned and dry are nasty and I can't bring myself to buy or drink them.

Last night DH got mad at me, even though he was in the wrong, and I kissed butt majorly so that we could DTD because I want another baby.

I am also wearing bathing suit bottoms.

H is really swaying me to vote republican and I think I might. He should be up there debating....he is that good.

Yeah, we are skipping a party tonight @ 7.  I mean, my kid is supposed to be in bed around 8:30, and the place is 40 minutes away.  I'm too old & tired this week to make that happen or fight that fight when we get home. 

We may also skip the ToT event tomorrow in our town.  I DGAF, she won't notice, and I'm bone tired.

I am glad my kid has better taste in music than all of yours.  He makes me watch a Korn video so he can the the drums. We bought him a drum set for his birthday.

My real confession is that I am on a dishes strike. I asked DH to make sure he does the dishes on monday when I went to work. He said yeah. There were pots and pans from a couple days because I worked until 8 the night before. MIL must  not have liked me telling her precious angel to do housework because she did them while he was out hunting. Horribly. Every single one of them needs to be rewashed. I threw what I could in the dishwasher but those pots and pans are waiting for DH. After tonight I won't be able to cook anything so he better hop to it.

Here's a picture from today.  This is a pile of instruments on a newspaper in our little eating nook.  I'm almost sure they are clean, but I am also quite sure they won't get re-sterilized before going on a tray & then into a patient's mouth.  This is the smallest infraction that I've seen.

That is disgusting and disturbing! You need to sterilize once it has come out  of the packaging regardless of whether it was used! I'm glad you're reporting him!

I have absolutely no bump memory and I'm sure I've been snarkalicious to someone one day and then sweet as pie the next because I don't remember that *that* poster said *that* particular thing.

Dh owns his own plumbing company but for the last couple of years it's taken a big hit. He finally decided it's time to give it up and work for the union. He's so depressed and sad that he couldn't make it work. I of course feel for him but I'm bursting with relief on the inside. The thought of being secure and stable financially is a wonderful feeling. It will be nice to get taxes back instead of owing every year. I can't help but to be happy even though he's heartbroken.

2. I might get my cat declawed. She walked up to DD who was sitting on the couch, and clawed her in the face for no reason. It was very uncharacteristic of her and MH has banished her to the garage. We're trying soft paws but so far they're not going over very well. I am sooo against declawing but I'm also against rehoming, and also against getting bitten while applying soft paws monthly, and also against her living in the freaking garage forever. Rock/hard place.

I'm going to turn my boss in the the state board & the DQAC (Dental Quality Assurance Committe).  I am going to take him down hard.  I've complained about him before, but I've learned some more details about his lack of bloodborn pathogen protocols & total endargerment of patients that he needs to be shut down & fined in a major way.  People need not be subject to his substantially unethical treatment.  In the next few weeks, I plan to take pictures & gather evidence against him.  May God have mercy on his soul, because I sureasshit will not.

Also, this makes me sad & ill.  Never in the 14+ years have I ever even thought sbout doing this to a person.  Ever.  The DQAC will ruin you.  Forever.  I know it's the right thing to do, so I will be pulling the trigger. 

This is the best thing I've heard in a long time.

 

Me too.  It gives me faith that there are brave people out there who are willing to do the right thing.

This makes me feel even worse about myself than I already had been.

Awww, I was trying to make you laugh.    How's about I tell you a story? 

One time, my sis was in a bit of a bad mood.  We were out at a semi-decent restaurant.  When we went to the restroom, I decided to try to make her laugh.  In the potty stall, I started to make these really loud, realistic fart sounds.  Well, she laughed at that so I made the awesome decision to keep doing that.  She laughed a LOTTTTT!  This went on for several minutes.  When I came out, her face was red & covered in tears from laughing.  However, the 3 or 4 people that came in after us just looked at me really weird & left in a hurry.  ZOMG, I didn't hear them come in at all!!  And my sis couldn't say anything because she was laughing too hard. 

But, she laughed & felt better.
