I posted a while back about an emom that family through friends had been talking with. We got a phone call yesterday that emom and edad are wanting to meet with us, and have our number. The family member that called and talked with me told me that emom and edad are 100 sure they want to place with us. I know that can change in an instant...but my mind is reeling! Not to mention she's due around thanksgiving!
Ugh! Any thoughts or suggestions or advice? We met with our agency this week and still have their training to complete and haven't even thought about starting a homestudy! I have no idea what to do!

If your agency can not complete the home study quickly, I would ask them if they will accept home studies from other sources. And then I would get on the phone with private foster agencies and any residential care facilities in your area to see if they complete home studies. Congratulations and I hope that everything works out in a timely manner for you!

I would make sure that HS gets completed ASAP because without it they will not be able to place with you.  GL.
