Dog. Baby. Rash. ???

SIL watched LOs today because I had to help my dad at work. Actually mil was suppose to but that's a different story... Anyway, kids are at a house what has a dog. Now DD has a rash ALL OVER her face! I can only assume the dog licked dd but I have no idea. She didn't eat anything to cause rash... I'm sorta worried and like 1 percent annoyed. As you may know I am NOT fond of dogs and it grosses me out to have its slobber all over my 5 month old Would dogs licks cause rash? Should I be worried its something else?! She's suppose to be there tomorrow as well and I kinda freaking out.

ETA: the rash is gone as of this morning when she woke up, so I do feel a little better.

Idk maybe from the fur? Could she be allergic to dogs?

I really don't know. She's been to their house before but never all day/lay on their floor type thing, usually she's in someone's arms. They have a lab, my mil/FIL have a yorkie and she doesn't have that reaction. But I think fur vs hair between those dogs is a big difference.
Her rash is all over her face. And it matches the little rash under her chins from her drooling... But she also has some rash in her arm crease, like elbow area but front. Why am I drawing a blank to what part of body that's called.
  • I mean it was "hot" for Michigan in October. High 70's. I thought heat rash when I saw arm, but I've never seen heat rash all over someone's face.
At first I thought it could be chicken pox. It honestly looked bad. And I'm kinda bothered SIL didn't tell me. I just walked in and was like, "WTF happened to my kid" ...didn't say that, just thought it.

  • Chloe gets dog lick rash all the time with my SIL's dog but not ours.  It doesn't bother her and goes away after a few hours.  I wouldn't worry about the rash, but make sure they know it happens and to do there best to keep the dog away.

  • C's allergic to an assortment of things though supposedly not dogs.  He gets hives if another dog licks him though not if ours does (anymore at least).  C's allergist also described him as getting "idiosyncratic hives".  In other words, his skin sometimes just reacts that way to pressure/heat/irritants that wouldn't cause reactions in most people.  His skin will get red and often little hives will pop out and go away within 10 minutes.  He said it can affect up to 1 in 10 people and my kid is definitely the 1 in his 10.
