NWMR: IPads

I dropped my IPad the other day and there is a crack going down the center of the screen and the corner is a little smashed up.  I just got it new in August but the 90 day warranty does not cover physical damage.  They want $300 to fix it at Apple.  Are there any other options?

There are some mail away places that do iphones, I'm not sure if they do ipads. $300 is lower than I thought it would be given the size, b/c I'm pretty sure iphones are well over $100 or $200 to fix.

I dropped my iphone several times and then one day a crack appeared on the back.  I was worried I would need a new phone.  I happened to walk by a kiosk at the mall that replaces screens on iphones and ipads.  It only cost me $30 to get a new back on my iphone.  I know there was a price listed for repairing screens on ipads, I think the price was maybe like $180. I'm clutzy so I remember thinking I should look as it was just a matter of time until I drop my ipad too.  You could check and see if they have something like this in a mall near you.  I live in MA.

This happened to DH we paid the $300 to apple. Sorry!!

That's horrible! We have a local business call the iPhone surgeon that is cheaper than sending in for a replacement. Maybe see Iif you have something like that around?!
