Working moms of any sort (part time, full time)- what do you do? As in what's your title and/or job description? If it's something vague sounding like "I'm a payroll clerk," please elaborate with what you ACTUALLY do all day if you are comfortable with that such as "I primarily enter people's hours from different job sites and deal with tax information." I think most of the Feb. moms work outside of the home so this can be sort of a GTKY. And... GO!

I'm a portrait photographer. I started way back 1996. The past few years my work is very seasonal. I make 80% or more of my income from October 'til the first week of December. I'm in the busy season right now but Im only doing about 1/3 of what I normally do because of the new LO.
It is very hard to get work now because of all the competition and new people selling all the photos on a CD for dirt cheap. I refuse to do that at this time. I only sell the finished product. I'm very traditional / old school.
I'm thinking of getting out of the business which makes me sad because it is all I ever wanted to do since age 12. Things just are not what they use to be. Not sure what I will do.
Where did you teach? I live in Philly and taught 5th grade in a Catholic School until this past year when my school closed.

I am the executive director of a case management company under the DD waiver. In English I am the director of 15 social workers and do social work myself for adults with developmental disabilities. We set up lives for adults with developmental disabilities, we help them find a place to live, help them find jobs, make sure someone is helping them with any medical needs, set them up with therapies if needed, help them get integrated into the community into events they like to do. We go to their houses and make sure the paid employees are taking care of them correctly, giving them the proper medication, we make sure they have food and clothing, we help them build the skills they need to care and provide for themselves. We occasionally deal with emergency situations and placements.
I love my job and it has completely changed my life, it can be beyond stressful and take an emotional toll on me but it is so rewarding.
I am a consumer products package designer.
I create the package designs for diapers, wipes, bottled water, paper towel, toilet paper, sanitary and incontinence products. (Free diapers, yay!) Anything from running a photo shoot for babies that go on packages to illustrating the character graphic that go on the actual diaper.

This is exactly what I do, except that I only work with 3rd grade, unless there is some kind of crazy circumstance. I have kiddos that run the gammut from slight learning disabilities, to severe autism and mental retardation.
This. I work 2 days per month (12 hr/ month contract). I am an occupational therapist providing consultation to day habilitation programs servicing adults with developmental disabilities.
I wouldn't ever say you're "just" a mom! It's an important job, and being home with the girls full-time was much harder then working full-time.
