Moms' Check-in! 10/25

Moms this is a place for us to check-in and keep up with one another! Share some concerns or encourage another mom in her parenting.  Feel free to include adoption-related info (ie: my child is 5, home for 6 months) in question #1 if you wish. Adoptive/bio/foster moms all welcome!

1. How many kids and ages?

2. Anything special/endearing/milestone-ish happen this week?

3. Any parenting concerns on your heart or mind this week?

4. Weekend plans?

5. Question of the Week: The "fall back" time change is looming! Do you expect the time change to bother your LO or change your daily routine at all? Looking forward to it? Dreading it?  Indifferent?

Re: Moms' Check-in! 10/25

  • 1. How many kids and ages? 1DS, almost 6 months

    2. Anything special/endearing/milestone-ish happen this week? He started dancing! And holding a bottle by himself (a little). The first thing makes me laugh every time, and the second makes him seem like he is growing up!

    3. Any parenting concerns on your heart or mind this week? Teething is like this big mystery to me. Is he grouchy because he is teething? I know that I will know after the fact when the teeth come in, but before then, how can I know for sure?

    4. Weekend plans?None yet other than church activities.

    5. Question of the Week: The "fall back" time change is looming! Do you expect the time change to bother your LO or change your daily routine at all? Looking forward to it? Dreading it?  Indifferent? I am not sure He is going 7-7 at night now, so I am sure it will affect that, at least for a night or so.

  • 1. How many kids and ages? 1 DD, 1 month old

    2. Anything special/endearing/milestone-ish happen this week? Today is 1 month since DD was born.  I can't believe it!

    3. Any parenting concerns on your heart or mind this week? I had a really awful stomach bug or food poisoning yesterday which I'm still recovering from today.  It got me thinking about how hard it is to take care of LO when you're sick but luckily DH can work from home so that's what he did yesterday to help out.

    4. Weekend plans? We are going to work on getting some baby pictures printed finally and filling in DD's baby book.

    5. Question of the Week: The "fall back" time change is looming! Do you expect the time change to bother your LO or change your daily routine at all? Looking forward to it? Dreading it?  Indifferent? I think we're still establishing a routine so I don't think it'll make much of a difference.

  • 1. DD, will be 3 in March. Adopted at 2 days old, finalized at 7 months old

    2. Her complete sentence structure continues to blow me away. As well as her total recall. Names, phrases, etc.

    3. DD is about 75% potty trained. DH expected her to be done by now (she picked up a lot of other things very quickly), and I feel a bit of pressure for her to be done. But we've thrown her off with lots of travel lately, so I'm trying to be chill.

    4. Quiet weekend for a change. I'm finally going to my knitting circle (yay!). There are 2 Halloween kids' events, one on Friday and one on Sunday. I hope to take DD to at least 1.

    5. Indifferent. I think a lot of moms stress over it more than it really ends up mattering much. DD goes to preschool on Mondays and Wednesdays, so she's going to get up at the same time those days no matter what.

  • 1.How many kids and ages? 1, 4weeks today, 1 month on Saturday.
    2. Anything special/endearing/milestoneish happen this week? Her colic seems to be a lot better with a change to soy formula and some prescription drops. We think she is going through a growth spurt since she is eating a lot more today and more often. She is starting to make some baby noises and recognizes us when we say her name and talk to her.

    3. Any parenting concerns on your heart or mind this week? Mostly just thise thoughts that she is dependent upon us and I don't want to let her down. I also felt bad yesterday when i didnt recognize this need for extra food and we both suffered while she was fussy for a while.

    4. Weekend plans? To get the sticker scene put up in her nursery and to watch some football.

    5. Question of the Week: The "fall back" time change is looming! Do you expect the time change to bother your LO or change your daily routine at all? Looking forward to it? Dreading it?nbsp; Indifferent? Since we aren't completely on a schedule I don't think it will matter.

  • 1. DD is 1.5 years old.

    2. She continues to amaze me.  She's such a smart peanut (sometimes too smart- ha!)  This week she's loved our dance parties even more then normal, I love watching her appreciation for music of any kind grow!

    3. We're still awaiting the DNA results RE: her Birth Father.  While this won't impact our adoption in the slightest, the emotional effects it will have on DD continue to scare me {more so this week then others} even though it will be years before we address them.

    4. We're going to a fall festival at her old daycare this afternoon, and Sunday after church we're hanging out with family, DD loves her cousins!

    5. I live in AZ- so it's an N/A issue for me :)
