Found a new job! Hopefully

So after suddenly and very unexpectedly getting laid off from my position as a veterinary technician at the very small clinic I was working at and considering looking at leaving anyway on Saturday, I already have a probable new job. I put in my resume at several other clinics that are closer to me new home than my old job was on Monday. Monday I had a spontaneous interview as a receptionist at one place. But yesterday I had an interview for a position as a surgery technician with a very large, very busy clinic that is MUCH closer to home than my old job 10 miles vs 30 miles. And the pay is much better, too. Well, they asked me to stay on the rest of the day and come back today for a "working interview." As of today, I am employed on a two week trial basis, and the main doctor will make his final decision. The other three doctors said they are pretty sure I have nothing to worry about as long as I can transition into a new practice pretty quickly. The surgery tech I'll have to replace will be leaving Thursday of next week, and there are no other candidates at the moment. I have plenty of experience in surgery, just never as much unsupervised responsibility as they expect. I'm really excited. I think this is going to be so good for me, and I really think this is going to be the kind of clinic that I want to be in. Especially since they do large and small animals, and occasionally a bit of exotics. Everything happens for a reason. Now if I could just figure out why my DH can't find a job, we'd be good....

Yay congrats!  I believe things do happen for a reason.  So glad you found a better fit.
