AW ...back to work

I'm so sad that I have to go back to work tomorrow. I mean I'm kind of looking forward to socializing, and waking/eating at normal hours (and hot food will actually be hot!), but I am going to miss that little boy. He's just starting to interact with smiles and coos and I finally feel like I'm STARTING to get the hang of motherhood.

He'll be with grandma and grandpa all day so I know he's in excellent hands but I can't help being sad to leave my little squish.

Boohoo, sob with me please!

  • It's tough but it's great getting back to talking to adults. I always joke I want to do maternity leave backwards. Go back to work right away then after 12 weeks then start maternity leave to enjoy the interaction. Good luck!

I feel your pain.  The first week will be hard, but it does get better! Good luck!

  • Good luck today.  The first few days are the hardest, but it does get easier.

  • I was in exactly the same situation. Went back to work after 6 weeks, and DS was taken care of by my parents. We did fine:) It is hard, the first week, but then I even appreciated the "freedom".

I said this to my boss today, nearly verbatim!
