constant congestion

DS came down with a little cold just over a month ago. It started strong with a high fever and severe congestion.  The fever only lasted 2-3 days, and he was extremely congested for about 3 weeks.  It has definitely gotten better over the past week, but he's still stuffed up, especially at night.  We do the saline spray, humidifier and nose frieda which help, but I can't help but wonder how long this is going to last.  Has any of your LOs been congested for what feels like forever?  What did you do?

LO had the same symptoms this spring. Turned out to be allergies. It seemed to last forever, and he was congested for over a month. Nothing really we could do at his age, except for the things you mentioned. Ds1 did the same thing with the first weather change in the fall after he was born. He still gets stuffy when the seasons change, but its not as bad, thankfully!

DS is always congested. Not really sure why because we live in Alaska, so no allergies. But usually after a cold he will get another stuffy nose. His doctor prescribed him 1/2 tsp of Zyrtec.  We give it to him at night if he seems stuffy. The first time we used it on him, it was like everything came out. So much snot...it was pretty gross. The dr thought maybe he had a clogged cavity up there, so maybe thats it??
