Babies: 9 - 12 Months

1 year = Bottomless Pit??

Here's the facts so far: We are down to three bottles a day. One in the morning, one at lunch and one before bed. All 5 ounces. She gets three meals a day and two snacks.

She knows some sign language and is always signing for "hungry"! I know she is starting her molars so maybe she just wants to chew on things. She is a healthy weight and doesn't seem to be gaining rapidly. If anything she is a little light, but seems to be a bottomless pit lately. Is there a growth spurt?

Also, I've been doing high protein in an effort to keep her satisfied longer. She LOVES starch. I give her whole wheat and plenty of vegetables. She eats cheese like its going out of style.

I'm not worried about weight gain, but we are still on formula until her doctor's appointment on Nov. 2nd. She is about 23 lbs. Still cruising, standing by herself for a little while, but not walking just yet.

Any other mamas have a bottomless pit these days?

  • Yes were in the same  boat! Kyle is the same weight 23lbs and has been since 5 months. Last night he ate 6 meatballs and 2 helping of potatoes! His snack this morning was a peice of wheat bread, 3oz yogurt and 4 strawberries. It was suppose to just be yogurt! He eats almost 3x more than my 5 year old! Hes only breastfed 2x a day and then gets whole milk 2x day.

  • Yes, DS eats a ton. He's actually lower on the weight chart, just growing like a weed in height, though!
