UGH! Tricare Prime Remote!

I never thought I would say this, but I MISS being near an MTF.  So it turns out my son needs to see a neuropsychologist for Autism Spectrum disorder. The only provider that Tricare could provide me is a non-network physician, 100 miles away, who is NOT a neuropsychologist. So at this point there are no in-network or out of network providers in over 100 miles! Has anyone else run across this?!

Yes, my husband is on recruiting orders and we live in a smallish town in Georgia. I now have to drive almost an hour and a half to go to my OB's office and the hospital where I'm going to deliver is right across the street. I had doctors in the town we live in that accept TriCare just not prime remote who were willing to take me on as a patient and even called TriCare to get them to approve it and they wouldn't. I hope that you are able to get an exeption made for your sons care!

In my experience, ive had to pretty much find the doctor myself, find out if they accepted tricare, and then had my PCM write the referral. Sometimes its hit or miss with specialists unfortunately. A lot of them aren't in the network. Just keep calling trucare and pestering them.

i thought they couldnt make you go more than 60 miles though?

Thank you so much. I am so up to my ears in paperwork and resources. I'm trying to take it one day at a time.  I turned in the EFMP paperwork. I hope that will help.

We are I and I duty. on a Reserve base. They don't even have a commissary or any hospital. I imagine it is somewhat like recruiting duty.
