My son cut his first tooth today. He will be 4 months old on Friday. Time is going by so fast!

    What do gums look like before they cut teeth?  I'm trying to figure out if DS is going to cut a tooth soon-he drools like mad and will stick anything in his mouth right now.  Being my first child, I have no clue what to look for.  Or feel for. 

    But congrats on this milestone!  Time does go by fast...

    He is my 4th and I can't tell you exactly what they looked like as they weren't overly red, didn't look inflamed, etc. He was drooling like a saint bernard and sticking everything in his mouth to chew on. He was a bit cranky, congested, and not sleeping well for a couple of days but I chalked it up to a slight cold combined with the 4 month wake up period.

    DS has cut his first tooth also.. (almost cried) he been drooling everywhere.. & took him for his 4 month check up & dr asked & I said i think one is coming in & asked how long could it take & she said oh it could take weeks & than she look in his mouth & saw it & she said on no this is coming in soon..wouldn't be surprised if it popped thru the next couple of days.. next day it came thru...so shots & a tooth poor lil guy had a rough weekend last weekend.. Sad
