I saw that you mentioned your dd doesn't sleep on her back. out of curiosity how does she sleep? my dd refuses to stay asleep on her back and i have been stressing out about putting her on her belly to sleep which is the only way to get her to sleep unless i hold her. i know they recommend the back but something's gotta give.
Re: *.*Crazycrustacean*.*
I put her on her side. And I've been doing it since the very beginning. She prefers the right and the pedi said that that's the way the stomach empties so it would help with gas.?
Now we also put her on her belly. The pedi approved that too, since she's able to lift her head & turn it.
I figured that it was more important for her to get good deep sleep, than it was for me to worry about her sleeping on her back & maybe having something horrible happen. The fact that they don't really know what causes sids & to me seem like they're grasping at straws for a cause, made the decision for me. Not to mention that our parents were told to put us (30+) on our bellies and my mother was told (20 years ago) to put my sister on her side.?
Just trust your instincts. If your dd doesn't sleep, it does no one any good.?
I also use a sleep positioner to keep her on her side.?
