Cloth Diapering

help me CD my Irish twins!

I had just gotten a collection of a bunch of different pocket CDs (OS and Fuzzi Bunz Perfect Size) when I found out I was pregnant again and my stomach went to hell and I couldn't deal with CDing anymore.  I'm now better able to deal with taking care of CDs and want to beef up my stash.  Does anyone have any ideas for a stash that would best suit two babies who are about a year apart?  I like the cost savings aspect of CDing two kids so I'm hoping to end up with one stash (or one and a half) that would sort of work for both rather than two separate stashes

I really like the pockets but am imagining that it would be a pain to readjust OS snaps with each diaper change.  I didn't have any complaints with the Fuzzi Bunz, so what about getting 12 or so in each size so that they'll both be in different sizes but I only have to buy each size once?  Is there something else that would make more sense?

Re: help me CD my Irish twins!

  • First of all, congrats! You must be so excited.

As for your stash, I really don't see an issue with changing the rise snaps as you go. Granted I only have one child, but that's kind of what I'm doing now as she's in between sizes for different diapers. I don't know how your kids are (or will be) but because of my DD's body type, the sized diapers don't really work well for us.

Hopefully you will find something at works for you. Good luck.

  • Congrats! I am having twins in April and DS will be about 18 months. I plan on using my OS diapers and just setting all the snaps when I stuff the pockets. Then I will separate them in the drawer so DH has no confusion!

  • Congrats!! I'm expecting #2 in Nov...my two will be 20 months apart so I too will have 2 in diapers.  I'm love Fuzzibunz but am finding that they are begining to leak on my toddler.  So I'm planning on using all my fuzzi bunz for the new baby (since they are a pain to adjust the size)...and using the rest of my stash of pockets (alva, kawaii, BG) for my toddler...they seem to be more absorbant for her.  I hope that works...hope you can find a good system for your 2! :)

  • you could try fitteds that are snapless (so you use a snappy or pins) from etsy.  I just got a bunch for $10/each.  They can usually fit from 8 lbs to 35/40 lbs and then all you would need are covers.  I just started doing wool so you could get a couple of wool covers.

Here are the etsy fitteds I recently got:

Greenchildcreations (*They actually have a pocket to adjust absorbency too): https://www.etsy.com/shop/greenchildcreations?section_id=11593376

greencarbonliving (they feel really soft) https://www.etsy.com/shop/greencarbonliving?section_id=11876932

I washed both and will probably try them on DS this weekend (he uses Kawaiis for daycare during the week) *I'll post a review on them next week.

Side note: Flips are really economical and I think 5 - 6 covers would be sufficient for 2 in diapers and their microfiber inserts are super easy to adjust right before you put the diaper on LO (*this are actually my DH's go to diaper).
