pink! It's a girl!

 Yesterday we went for a consultaion with a high risk Dr. and we didn't expect an ultrasound. We were finished talking and his nurse mentioned to him that I was 18 weeks. He said he thought I was earlier because I'm not showing much but when he heard how far along I am he said, "How about an U/S before you leave?" So we saw that our little one is a girl.

DH was so excited wich made my heart melt. He was acting silly and forgetful all day. I told him he was acting "twitterpated" about the other girl in his life. (twitterpated-you know from the movie Bambie when the little critters are in love?)

DH bought pink icecream and cookies and brought them out to his family to announce. It was funny to me that his dad and 17 year old brother guessed what all the pink stuff meant and his mom and sisters were clueless!

I am feeling a lot of different emotions this morning. I am so thankful and excited for this little girl but finding out has brought a fresh wave of grief for the loss of my first, my little boy. I keep thinking about all the familys I know who had boys first and then a girl and I imagine how empty their family would be and my family is without the oldest. I guess this is something you ladies can understand.

Anyways, I just wrote a lot more than I meant to! Have a great day everyone! Sorry this is a bit of a P&R but I'll be back this afternoon!

    Congratulations on finding out the sex! So exciting!
    3 ectopic pregnancies (EDD's 1/30/12-tube removed, 6/2/12-methotrexate and 10/2/12-methotrexate)
    IVF and Natural FET resulted in BFN's and a hole in our wallets
    Natural BFP #4 on 9/7/12 gave us our miracle on 5/18/13

William Daryll born at 9:59am on 05/29/13. Left ovary and tube removed due to peach sized tumor found during RCS. Pathology came back benign!

    As for the feelings of sadness, I totally understand that. I hate that any of us have to know the pain of these losses (((hugs)))

    Congrats on your little girl!  And ((HUGS)) for the grief that it reminds you of.  Unfortunately we know all to well what you are talking about.  It is difficult, but I am so glad that your H is so excited!

    We lost our first (EDD 07/23/12) after finding out at 12 weeks there was no longer a heartbeat. Our rainbow was born 05/22/13 and was worth all we went through.

    The emotional side of your post brought tears to my eyes.  I am so sorry for the loss of your son, as excited as I am for your daughter.  I can only begin to imagine the span of emotions you are feeling.

    Congrats on your baby girl! I understand how crazy the feelings are about finding out the sex after a late loss. In fact, I scheduled a therapy appointment for me and DH for a couple days after our A/S because I know I will probably need to work through some feelings. ((hugs))
