I bought a lot of used pocket diapers but they don't come with inserts. I'm fine with purchasing my own, but the research of "the best" inserts are overwhelming me right now, so I thought I'd try here.
I want the most absorbency I can get (for day time use) with as minimal bulk as possible. Any suggestions?
Re: your favorite inserts
Microfiber are the cheapest inserts you can buy. They absorb super fast, but don't absorb a ton, and you can get compression leaks when they are saturated. They are fairly trim.
Bamboo can be thinner then MF, it absorbs almost as quickly at MF, but absorbs a lot more.
Hemp is probably one of the thinnest inserts you can find, it absorbs more or the same as bamboo (depending who you ask), but absorbs more slowly than both bamboo and MF.
I started with MF inserts in my pockets, and 19 months later I still use MF during the day (two inserts now), and bamboo for naps and bamboo and hemp for overnight. With a heavy wetter some people have to use bamboo all the time.

Do the specific brands of MF, hemp or bamboo matter? It seems that different companies have different reviews for each of the aforementioned types of inserts. So are MF, hemp, bamboo inserts not created equal?
