Ok, since it seems like everyone has different recommendations, I thought maybe I'd put up a poll and see what gets the most votes. If you used multiple ones, either click SS and explain below or click the one that you used most often (like if you used the Ergo around town but found the Moby better for hikes or something like that, then click the Ergo). I said woven because I love them and I think they are the most versatile but it depends on the situation. Sometimes you need something fast and easy like an Ergo, which I also have and also like. The reason that I want to try a mei tai is because it's kind of a combo of the two. It's easier to put on than a woven but you can adjust the tightness and support and use it with smaller babies than you can with the Ergo.

Can't you use an Ergo for infants with the infant insert? That was one of the things that I found appealing about it. And I liked my woven when DD was itty bitty and I used the cradle wrap with her, but as she got bigger I seemed to get worse with it and she wouldn't stay in well. Then when she was old enough that we could put her upright, it was just way easier to use the Baby Bj?rn (although very hard on my shoulders).

I loved the BH for the first 6 months, so easy to put on, adjust and no insert. We didn't get the insert for the Ergo because they are apparently a PITA and very hot.
However, for the first six months, I used both the Ergo and the Moby. The Moby is great for little ones, keeps them warm and cozy, right next to your skin. I just don't like how long it takes to get it just right.
I use my Ergo daily. Around the house to fold laundry, pick up the house, even cook (with ds on my back now that he is older). My husband likes it too.

I think it totally depends on the stage the baby is in - we loved our moby with ds, but I loved the ring sling with dd even more, both as a newborn. I love, love, love the Beco when they get past the newborn/ring sling stage. The ergo is okay, but I like the beco better. We have a Kelty for hiking.

I liked a ring sling best when they can't hold their heads up yet, then I preferred the BabyHawk. DH preferred our vintage Snugli (it has been rebranded as Weego https://www.weego.com and should not be confused with what is sold as a Snugli now). I had a fleece wrap that I never got used to, but I gave it away and the new owner loves it.
We've had five, a baby bjorne, which was all I had othe beginning and I. Used it loads and loved it, even though it's not the best.
W also had a moby and a rirng sling I could never get the hang of. A Patapum, which is like an ergo, but prob not as nice, which is good, but not great for newborns, when I wore them the most, and a Kelty, which we use now for walking, but. S more comfortable for my husband.
Id have loved an ergo, but couldn't justify the price.
We used the Snugli and loved it. Price it was on sale at Babies 'R Us, and b) it was the most comfortable for both of us to wear with good back support for me (5'4") and DH (6').
My favorite was the Moby, but I would like to try a woven. After figuring out how to get it on quickly it was my best friend. It came with us everywhere--even if we were just running over to spend the day with the ILs. I spent a ton of time with DD sleeping in the Moby. Love, love, loved it.
The Ergo with the infant insert was okay and DH preferred it, but it was more of a PITA for me to get her in and out of than for me to just wrap the Moby on and pop her in.
I used the Moby a lot when DS was young and loved it. It was always comfortable and easy to use. I bought an Ergo when I was in the US when he was 9 months old but have only used it a few times. I bought an infant insert and plan to use both the Ergo and Moby from early on when we have number 2.
