experience switching from Neosure to a different formula

LO's pedi told me to take him off of Neosure at our two month appointment. At that time he had been eating 3-4 oz of Neosure every 3 hours. Now that he has been on regular Similac Advanced he's only eating 2-3oz every 4 hours. So the amount has decreased and he's eating less often. He doesn't seem to notice a difference in taste or anything that I can tell. It isn't making him any more gassy than usual and he's been pooping just the same as always. The only difference is the amount he's eating. When he's hungry he gobbles it up but he stops between 2-3oz and wont eat any more. I called the pedi and told them, they said give him 2 weeks to get used to it. If he's still eating less than we'll talk about switching again.  Has anyone had a similar experience switching off of neosure?

Re: experience switching from Neosure to a different formula

  • Not with a switch because we've always been on Neosure, but we've gone through episodes where the kids will decrease the amount of formula they take in during the day.  It's lasted a few days to a week in the past.  They eventually go back up to their normal amount.  Maybe just a coincidence?
