I recently sold a bracelet on eBay and it has been the worst experience! I sold it about 7 days ago, shipped it out the next morning once the payment was posted and imputed the tracking number. This was last Monday. I didn't check eBay until Wednesday night (thinking there were no issues) and the buyer had opened a case! He said that the tracking number was invalid and he didn't "believe that I had actually shipped it." I dug through the trash and was unable to find the tracking number receipt. The next day he received the bracelet in the mail, apologized and said all was well. By Saturday the case still hadn't been closed and the money was still being held. I e-mailed the buyer and asked him to close the case, buyer said first thing Monday morning. Buyer e-mails me this morning and says "I called and closed the case, thanks for your patience, they said the money would be taken off hold in 2 hours." I wait about 8 hours and then call eBay to find out what's up. They then tell me that last Friday the buyer called them and said the bracelet was not authentic. I am fuming right now that this person has my bracelet, I have yet to get paid and now the buyer is lying to me! They said it can take up to 2 weeks to get this kind of stuff resolved and they don't release the payment until it's resolved! Sorry this was so long, but I am so frustrated! Has anyone had an experience similar and it's worked out quickly?
Re: Anyone have experience selling on eBay?
Sorry it seems like he is scamming you . I sell a lot on ebay and have had one instance where I opened a case on someone who won the bid on my item and never paid - I didn't send the item though so it wasn't as bad, just made me really mad that she was wasting my time!
Ebay never resolved it and I gave up on getting payment and relisted them.
Hope you get your money and that it wasn't too much $$ !
It finally just got resolved. I called PayPal and they released the money to me. It was $450! I'm going to try and stay clear of eBay for a while!
I've had so many terrible experiences on there I just don't ever use it anymore. It's basically an overpriced store for China knock offs. And I've had just awful experience selling, their comission is outrageous for the service they provide (non paying bidder, they still took the $50 final value out!)
And my personal favorite my husband bought a truck on there with basically all our savings, we hired the shipping company ebay listed to ship it. They waited, and waited and finally we just flew across the entire country, with a four month old baby we get there and the listing was completely fraudulent, car wouldn't even start, no transmission nothing. We were stranded on the opposite coast with no money or way to get home and Ebay wouldn't do a thing because it was 47 days after the auction, not 45.
