Graco My Size 70 problem

I just got it a couple weeks ago and I'm having some serious trouble with the strap. I can't tighten it snug w/out pulling the harness tight from the back of the seat... its a PITA now, but eventually when we turn him FF (not for at least another year or more) it will be impossible. Has anyone else had this problem?  It seems worse if the straps get pulled out all the way when taking him out of the seat, I just don't know what the heck I'm doing wrong with this thing... interestingly the floor model tightened and loosened great... better than the marathon we have. Did I get a dud? I'm very tempted to call graco about it.

I don't know the answer to your question but I think I've seen things on car-seat.org about the problem you are talking about.

It is an extremely common issue. I am on my 3rd seat from them. I belong to a board on facebook full of people that own the seat, and more than half of the people that own it are having this exact issue.

I have been in contact with Graco in regards to the problem, and I have spoke with their engineers on more than one occasion. I have found that the issue is commonly occurring on head rest position when the harness is coming from below the shoulders (which it should for rear-facing mode). If I move the harness up to the 3rd spot, then I don't have any issues, but the harness is slightly above my sons shoulders.
