What does your 2 year old eat....my son is not very picky but i am so Im not much of a cook, i am trying desperately to give him different eating habits than me. I feel like its still the same old stuff for him though.
Whats are some quick meals you make for you little one?
Re: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Breakfast Ideas
Regular Oatmeal (with pumpkin puree and cinnamon added in)
Instant Apple and Cinnamon Oatmeal (has more sugar in it though)
Banana Zucchini Muffins (make a batch and then freeze and defrost one when needed)
Pancakes (Plain, Blueberry, Pumpkin Apple etc.(Make big batches, wrap and freeze, thaw when needed)
Buttermilk Waffles (big batch, freeze, and thaw)
Cereal and Milk (Cheerios, Chex, Life)
Fruit/Fruit Cups especially Bananas and Apples
Yogurt
Applesauce
Lunch/Dinner
Homemade "chicken nuggets"
Quesadillas/Chicken Quesadillas with peppers, salsa or guacamole in them
Pasta with sauce
Peanut Buter and Jelly (if you are looking for a "healthier version" I do whole wheat bread, natural peanut butter and fruit preserves and she gobbles it up)
Grilled Cheese
Soup
Pizza
Sweet Potato "fries" (baked)
Frozen veggies mixed with a little pizza or pasta sauce
Fruit/Fruit Cups
Yogurt
Applesauce
Breakfast:
Scrambled egg whites w/ cheese, fruit, & toast w/ preserves &/or cream cheese
Oatmeal made w/ fruit & almond milk
Greek yogurt, fruit, & toast w/ preserves &/or cream cheese
Pancakes, eggs, and bacon or sausage if we're going all out
Lunch - I usually make one of the following with a side of fruit and if she's still hungry she usually asks for yogurt too, we like the Vanilla Chobani:
Chicken sandwich melt - diced leftover chicken & mozzarella on whole wheat, microwaved for about 30 sec
Mini Pizza - half a wheat english muffin w/ diced chicken or precooked turkey sausage crumbles (I buy the Jimmy Dean ones) pasta sauce, & cheese microwaved for about 30 sec
Chicken Nuggets w/ honey - the frozen kind, nothing fancy but I do buy the organic ones!
Sometimes I just cut up cheese, dice some leftover chicken, maybe a few raw veggies w/ some ranch yogurt to dip them in, some crackers. Or I'll heat up leftovers from dinner.
For dinner she eats whatever we eat. Unless its something really spicy or that I know she doesn't like, then I usually make her some pasta (I like the kids kind made with veggies, can't think of the brand) and I mix in some frozen veggies, chicken, and cheese with the sauce.
This website (https://weelicious.com/) is awesome for all kinds of kid recipe ideas too. I've tried some things from there to mix in with our above normal go to meals and have always had good luck!
