I like Bram better...But I also like Jon better then John....so theres that. I find H's unecissary when they don't change the pronunciation or make it more 'complete' (eg Mica vs Micah).

Except that John is complete with the H, taking away the H changes the name. Not the pronounciation but the name. The h wasn't added to be different, it's the correct way of spelling that name.
I agree that I don't like people adding letters to names that shouldn't be there.
AS far as Bram or Brahm, I don't think I prefer one over the other.
This is my cousin's name (this spelling and the same pronunciation as Brahm's lullaby) so it might be because that is what I am used to. It's a really great, underused name.

Bram and Brahm are pronounced differently. Bram rhymes with Sam. Brahm rhymes psalm (sorta).
I like both! I am seriously no help.
I wasn't saying Bram and Brahm were pronounced the same, but that John and Jon are pronounced the same. I mentioned John to say that the H was not an "extra" h, it was part of the proper way to spell John.
I still don't prefer either name. I am familiar with both.

I think she was referencing the bolded sentence from a pp.

Jon (as in Jonathan) and John are both acceptable spellings of a name that sounds exactly alike, I prefer the one without silent letters, or I would use the longer name to get the spelling without a silent "unnecissary" letter.
I had no idea Bram and Brahm were pronounced differently, reading it off in my profession or as the kids teacher I would have read both as Bram. So maybe consider that while your considering how you want to pronounce/spell it.
and TBH the explination of how Brahm is supposed to sound, sounds kind of snobby or overly prestigeous imo, so I guess my vote would still be for Bram
Hmmm...typically people pronounce them both differently but every once in a while I'll find someone who pronounces them the same.
Sorry you found the explanation for Brahm to be pretentious. It was just the first thing that came to mind for me.
Well I love Brahms, but as a name I find it a little much. I guess you aren't really using his name though, since you aren't including and "s". I'd go with the less fussy Bram.

I go back and forth on the pronunciation for Bram. In the US it is commonly pronounced Bram rhymes with Sam. However, I am aware that it is pronounced as Brahm in other countries.
I prefer Braam and it is pronounced like Brahm. I don't know if it makes a difference but it is a nickname of an acquaintance named Abraham and his 1st language is Africaans.
