I am in a Jones wrap right now. That only has the hard cast material on the bottom of my foot up to the back of my knee. It works like a splint. I have my surgery on Wednesday and I will get Polar cold therapy circulating cold water system thing. I'm not sure how long I will have to use that.. maybe a few days or a couple weeks?
Then I will finally get a cast. I will have to be in a cast for the reminder of the time I am non-weight bearing: 6-10 weeks after surgery. I have been trying to decide on what cast color I am going to get. I'm thinking black or hot pink.
I think (I'm not sure) after I get the cast off, I will get one of those sexy boots. haha.

That's a lot longer than I thought. I hope it goes by quickly for you.

Gah Shoe, I thought you were announcing you POAS....
Just for you, I'm going to make my announcement title "I peed on some sticks yo".
I thought this might cause confusion. And then I remembered I didn't care. My threads always have a ton of views. Might as well build some suspense for everyone, since they're all going to look anyways.

Hey lady -
I just wanted to say I am really sorry about your foot. I have been lurking lately but rarely like to type out responses on my iPad anymore. Too much of a PITA.
I also had a Jones fracture. Happened in Nepal. The hospital there was the scariest thing ever. And the Nepali ortho wanted nothing more than to operate on a diplomat. I swear he was sharpening his knives the moment he looked at my x-ray.
But the American PA stepped in and treated me very conservatively. I was in a full hard cast and crutches for 6 weeks. And then a boot. There was no such thing as handicap anything there. I had no elevator at work and broke every toilet paper holder at my job trying to get up and off the toilet.
It sucked. So I really, really know your pain. I am thinking of you and sending you heal fast vibes.

I appreciate all the good vibes I can get!! I actually don't have a Jones fracture, I have 6 fractured bones and a lisfranc dislocation/fracture. The type of wrap my foot is in is a Jones wrap. Either way, foot injuries are serious business.
Remember to take your foot off the break before impact everyone!!

Is that what caused all of this?!? I had no idea ... Hope your surgery goes well on Wednesday!
Yup it sure did cause all of this. My car wasn't crushed in around my foot or anything. I just was breaking at the time of impact!! I think it is more common than people might realize!
