I'm having so much trouble deciding on carseats for my twins. I want to use the DSNG and then the city mini. What is compatible with the DSNG? I've heard the keyfit 30s are not compatible with the new dsng model. Is this true? Would snugride 35s fit? Or just the snugride 30s? Any recommendations? Thank you so much!
Re: DSNG compatible carseat?
We had Snugride 32s and they snapped right in. I'm 99% sure the Snugride 35 is the same base size, so it will definitely work. HTH!
Thanks! So you'd recommend the snugride 30 over the 35? DH thought the 35s "felt" sturdier? Also, the keyfits aren't safer, right? Or does the consumer report ranking mean it's actually safer?
i had issues buying too- here's the ones I got and they are light and work great-

its the odyssey at BRU Graco!
okay- Any snugride with a # has the same base. Snugride with no # behind it has a different base. You can get the largest sungride # so you can use it longer however more then likely your child will outgrow it by length first anyways so the weight # won't matter. Also by the time your child gets close to 30lbs your are not going to want to carry them & will switch to a convertible. They lower snugrides also tend to start at 4lbs and cost less.
Yes, the keyfits are rated better for safety however the snugrides are still rated very well.
You do not have to use the strap on the DSNG for the gracos, but should use it on the keyfits as the manuel says. IMO using the straps everytime would be a PITA.
TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!
Last ditch FET resulted in BFP, and identical twin girls!

Our perfect baby boys were born at 36w1d!!
I used Graco SR 30's. I have a DSNG made in 2010.
I went with the 30's because at that time they were one of the few that had a min weight of 4lbs, not necessarily that they went to 30lbs, and were somewhat cheaper... Plus, I had a history of preterm labor and had a gut feeling my babies would come early. 34w5d born, slightly under 5lbs ea.
That being said, my girls stayed in their 30's almost until their first bday, but we had to stop using the DSNG around 6 months because their legs were so long that whoever was in back was seriously squished. Maybe this issue has changed with the new DSNG design?
