I need to "B" so I'm starting this early!
I'm sick of seeing SIL FB posts about all her "adventures" with her friends. She's constantly off doing stuff and not always free stuff, she's going off to do all kinds of stuff like going to a shooting range, camping at resorts, going to the water park, etc. The thing that bugs me is that she is a "single" mom working the system and getting food/childcare assistance. So my tax dollars are paying for her kids to be in daycare and fed, while she doesn't work fulltime, and she lives with her boyfriend who makes plenty of money to support them all. As long as they aren't married she gets assistance, and HUGE tax refunds because she's a "single" mom. So she has no reason to work fulltime, or go to school, even though I'm sure she woudl get grants to cover all of that. It's really, really starting to get to me. I'm still paying for DD's birth, and I'm sure she had it all covered. They go on weekend getaways all the time and are out with friends constantly, I see it all over FB. It just bugs me how someone, who is fully capable to do more, is able to use the system the way she does. There is no reason my tax dollars should be paying for her to have her kids in daycare while she's off having fun with her friends.
Re: MMBF
The sad realization is that your SIL is by far not the only one. This is why I believe that assistance should be limited to 1 year and can only be used 2-3 times in your life. What would happen to the system if we all did that?!
I hope your day gets better!
I agree, there should be limitations. Aid should be there to help get someone back on their feet, not for them to maintain themselves for years and years on end.
