Xp sleep regression or teething?

For the past 2 weeks it has been really hard to get dd down for naps and at night for bed. She is teething but it also coincides with the arrival of ds. Did anyone experience this and if so how did you deal with it? Basically our nighttime routine was bring dd up to bed after bath place her in her crib and she woul toss and tern a bit and then pass out. Now when we place her in her crib she cries begs to be picked up and I feel terrible. Both dh and I are such softies we end up picking her up and either rocking her or cuddling to sleep with her. Im not sure if it's her teeth or sleep regression because of ds. What do you moms think?

Re: Xp sleep regression or teething?

  • My DD always sleeps poorly when teething.

  • Teething disrupts DDs sleep sometimes too it's been particularly bad with these canine teeth coming in.

  • I could have written this.  We were on vacation last week, so DD ended up in bed with me half way through the night...so that might be part of it.  She has always been great about going to bed, but this week she has been shaking her head when we ask if she wants to go 'nite nite' and SCREAMING when we lay her down.  The other night I let her cry for about 15 minutes, and then spent an hour laying outside her crib rubbing her foot while she cried.  She did finally fall asleep, but then woke up at 4am to snuggle in bed with me.

Last night she went to bed without too much drama and didn't wake up at all.  She has all of her teeth (except her 2 year molars), so I think it might be a mixture of vacation and developmental.

     Hang in there!!
