I'm sure we are going to get a booster with a 5 point harness, but when do you move them into this?
I'm just wondering because LO is almost 3. He's still RF in his convertible seat. Soon we will FF him and he'll still be in the convertible seat.
#2 is due in January, so by the time she is 1 and ready for the convertible seat, DS will be 4...
Trying to figure out if we will be able to move him to a booster and put her in his convertible seat or if we are going to need something for in-between.
Thanks for the info!
Re: When do you move LOs into a booster seat?
DD1 was 4.5 when we moved her. It was February and DD3 was due in May.
I just moved DD2 this week, she will be 5 in December.
Really, you can do a 5pt harness booster whenever your child turns ffing. In harness mode, there's no difference between that and a convertible seat.
My personal preference for a high back booster with seatbelt only is 5 years. General guidelines are 4 years and 40 lbs. Your child has to be mature enough to sit correctly in the booster.
DD1 was >99th percentile for height until she turned 5 years, which is when she dropped down to 97th. She also has a long torso, but she was able to stay harnessed until then. In fact, I think she would still fit harnessed in the Nautilus now. She's almost 50". She outgrew the harness in the convertible seats we had by 4.5 years.
