diaper rash

My baby is three months and she has an aweful diaper rash. She is started on more formula now because my supply has decreased so she pretty much gets all formula besides a little Bm. Could it cause her diaper rash? I mean we have been supplementing for quite a while and gradually building into the mostly formula so I don't think it could cause it since we didn't have a problem before but I'm a ftm.

Also, any tricks to getting ride of it? I will ask her doctor Monday but its almost raw looking. I feel bad. We tried desitin and it didn't help and not sure what else will clear it quickly.

I rotate desitin and a&d ointment. I've never heard of formula change causing a rash. Also, if you can air it out, that helps too....put some waterproof pads/cloths down and let her enjoy being bare butt for awhile! Doc will probably give you a RX and that will clear it up quick. GL!

Desitine works wonders. We used the rapid relief/overnight one and it looked better the next day.

I second this. It's the only thing we tried that helped clear up LO's severe rash.

We use coconut oil. Love it. Look it up, it's great stuff!

Try this mix Mayloxx and ad ointment in equal parts. The maalox neutralizes the the stool/urine and the ad protects. Nothing works better and it doesn't burn like destin

Desitin didn't work for us. Dr. Smiths was awesome!!

Our daughter had a yucky diaper rash and the doctor said the diaper rash creams that have the zinc in them can also cause a reaction. We then used only the A and D ointment and the dr also gave us a prescription of nystatin. Cleared up in a day. Good luck. Also make sure baby is completely dry before putting diaper back on.

Our doctor recommended Cortizone 10 along with a thick diaper rash cream. Triple Cream has worked really well. Also try to air it out some without a diaper on or just a diaper loosely over her so she's covered, but it's not on completely. Our doctor said airing it out actually works the best over even the diaper creams.
