Saturday FFC

SO told me to take his debit card and go get a gift for his friends kid. I went to Gymboree and I have decided that Gymboree is as bad a Target. See, yesterday I went into Target needing socks for Gator and I ended up walking out with 70 worth of stuff....two shower curtains so I can take the shower doors off and give Gator a bath in the tub, shower curtain rings, a kick arse infant sled for when we go to Idaho in January....it's like Target sucks me in!

Anyway, he said spend about 50 dollars. I ended up buying 186 dollars worth of stuff. After using coupons and codes, some stuff on sale, and all that jazz....it came out to 57 dollars. I told him I bought the kid two long sleeve shirts, a tee shirt, and a pair of shorts for next summer for that 57 dollars. He just said "alright". But in addition, I also got Gator a dress, two long sleeve shirts, and hair clips. Which she of course doesn't need because my mom just bought her a whole 12 to 18 month wardrobe and half of a 18 to 24 month wardrobe from Gymboree and Crazy 8.

I am using the excuse that the brand holds up well and if we have another girl we can use them again.....but she hasn't even had her birthday yet and I am sure she will get more clothes. Shame on me......

Re: Saturday FFC

  • DH is making spicy Tortilla wraps for B's party tomorrow and I keep eating them forcing him to make more. I have eaten about 20 of these things, I seriously can't stop! He is also making pulled pork and I haven't even started my veggie pizza for tomorrow, so lazy.

  • So Gymboree... that store does nothing for me and I don't know why.  All of my friends seem to love it and I love Janie & Jck which is owned by the same company.  Maybe I should give it another chance.  Did you buy dressy outfits?

  • I'm not a fan of Gymboree either.
  • I never have any luck in Gymboree. Anything I like they only have in larger sizes. My favorite is The Children's Place. I get into trouble there every time.
  • I am not a fan of Gymboree either but I can drop 100 bucks in Target in under 30 minutes.

  • It really depends on what you are looking for if you want to shop at Gymboree. I know the ones in my area rotate their collections every 6 weeks or so. I know the Gymboree outlet is about the same. And so is Crazy 8. If you end up finding a collection that you like, you pretty much have to jump on it ASAP and get what you want because they go quickly. I loved a bird collection they had there, and it was gone within a matter of weeks in both of the stores by me. I ended up having to buy some online and my mom found a few of the items at a store while on vacation. I am not a fan of tons of wording like "Mommy's little cupcake" or "Daddy's little princess" on her clothes so it makes it hard to shop at stores like Carter's because over half of the time I find an outfit I love but then it says "AUNTIE LOVES ME BEST!" across the front. And there are sometimes when Gymboree will have collections that I think are awful and I will just avoid the store.... But these are the collections that I bought some things from (well, these are the items in my possession...beside the sweater and a few of the shirts, which my mom has until Gator's birthday)

  • I hate that MH is getting chubby. If I put on a few pounds, which I have in the past, I'd expect him to overlook it and not say anything. That's why I haven't told him how much I hate his pot belly and that he doesn't even try to diet or exercise. Of course I still love him as much and more than when we first met, but just three years ago he had such a hot body complete with abs and six pack and he's let it go to pot. His parents have commented on it, and his friends were very blunt about it when we went to his college reunion this summer. I don't know where he gets it either because we don't really drink and I only make healthy stuff at home. He says he doesn't eat big lunches but what he does eat must be crap, and he always complains he's still hungry after dinner and on his days off. I've gently hinted that he should try to lose the belly before next year's reunion. I hate to say it but I was really embarrassed to hear his friends teasing him about it.
