Toddlers: 24 Months+

Eyebrow Grooming Poll

My almost 3 year old girl has a unibrow.  I'm debating whether to let her be or deal with it.  My mother never helped us with any grooming and I was always the last of my friends to do everything (shaving, deodorant, wearing a bra, eyebrows, makeup, hair straightening, etc).  I wish she had given us more guidance.

Re: Eyebrow Grooming Poll

  • haha, I totally thought this was going to be about me & was fully ready to select "i should get it waxed regularly but I'm too lazy & try to pluck when I can".  I wasn't really expecting it to be about a toddler, as this has never crossed my mind, I guess b/c it hasn't had to (though I have looked at 3 yr old DD's legs & thought that I didn't realize 3 yr olds had hair like that on their legs so young...).

I can't imagine a toddler tolerating plucking, I hate it & it makes my eyes water & I try to get MH to let me pluck some of his stray weird ones & he usually refuses...! I think I'd wait until she's a little older, personally, unless her little friends or others are saying things about it and making her feel bad.

  • I'm shocked at the amount of responses of people who say they pluck. Kids do not need their eyebrows plucked. There's enough time for that when they grow up, why put them through it now?

  • DD2 has a unibrow.  I don't do anything b/c she's 1.5 yo.  However, there are several times I have been tempted to Nair the thing.

Just 10% of 10 people said pluck....which was me.  But, I have to qualify my response.  DD is super interested in my grooming routine and is always asking me to do her too.  She's asked me a couple of times to pluck.  I usually get one or two hairs before she says to stop...which I do.

  • I'm voting NA because we don't have any eyebrow issues but if we DID, I would DEFINITELY do something about it - shave, pluck - whatever.  Especially on a girl.

  • DH has a serious unibrow and I pluck his. DS looks like his two brows will merge into one at any point, and I'm fully prepared to use a little trimmer if it gets intolerable.
