bleeding hemmorhoids.. sorry TMI

i am so frustrated. they have been painful and bleeding for over a month already. and what i dont understand is that i had a c section. i cant imagine how bad they would be if i had a vaginal birth. the dr said they are normal.. im gonna call again on monday, because i cant take it anymore. ive tried everything, suppositories, sitz baths with epson salt, anusol, etc, this cant be normal to bleed every time i go to the bathroom. and im bfing so i dont want to keep using all these medications, and when i go it feels like glass is coming out of me. its so painful. i am so depressed over this! and the last thing i want to do is surgically remove them because i heard that is worse than childbirth. has anyone had them this long? is this normal? what did you do?

  • Ask your doctor for a prescription for proctosol. It's a steroid foam that you apply to a tucks and then leave on the affected area. You use it three-four times a day and it will shrink the hemmorhoid. It took about three days for it to work for me and my problem was similar. I was thinking surgery, too, because nothing seemed to be working. Good luck!

  • Mine stuck around for about 2 months. I kept doing stool softeners, sitz baths, and tucks. Now, at 3 months, I feel fine. But it stinks having them!!!

  • Get a prescription!  I had them while I was pregnant and then had them ultra bad after I delivered!  They are finally starting to go down and they aren't painful anymore, but they are still there.  I know you're BFing, and so am I.  But the amount of steriods that your body absorbs and then passes through BM is so teeny tiny.  It's totally worth it to me to use this cream twice a day while EBFing.

But it's up to you.  If you don't want the prescription because of the steriods, I guess it just comes down to how much pain you are willing to endure.
