Enema, wasn't sure where to post this..

I just had my baby girl 5 days ago and haven't had a bowel movement since because I just don't have the sensation to go.. my doctor gave me an enema to take tonight. since I don't feel the sensation to go now, how am I supposed to feel when the enema works? Just wondering if any other moms needed one and if they made out alright and didn't crap themselves haha.

Enema to take? You mean enema to do, or a suppository? Anyways.. Your gonna know.. You may not make it to the toilet so stay close!!

Lay down on your side on a towel and five yourself the enema. Usually, we tell patients to try to wait 15 minutes before going to the toilet...it's often really hard for them to hold it for that long. I'd say if you don't feel a sensation to go in 20 minutes or so, just get up to the toilet and try anyway!

I did an enema, 4 days PP and I got a towel layer it right next to the toilet or as close as you can get, did the enema and waited till I had the urgency to go poop really bad. The enema saved my life. I was in pain cause I had to go so bad but nothing would come out! Good luck!
