Bottle feeding

So the doctor said to introduce the bottle to my 1 month old since I will be going back to work in January and my mom will be taking care of her. How much milk should I pump into one bottle or bag to give to her? Should I just fill it completely and let her drink as much as she wants and if so can she take from that same bottle again and finish the bottle and then continue to another one if necessary?

Re: Bottle feeding

  • For a one month old, you can probably start with 2 or 3 ounces and see how she does.  If she seems to still be hungry or get hungry again before 2 or 3 hours, then up to it to 4 ounces.  It just takes some experimenting to see how much she needs.
