Posting this early as I will be busy in the morning with a visitor ![]()
Welcome to the bedrest check-in. Due to popular consensus this check-in is now on Fridays instead of Mondays. We are a weekly update and GTKY group on the high risk board. If you would like to participate, please post the following info:
Due Date, team green/blue/pink with name if you want, type of bedrest, gestational age when you went on bedrest, why you went on bedrest, other high risk issues.

I did some housekeeping this week and removed a few people who we have not heard from in over 4 weeks. If you notice that you've been removed and would like to be re-added, no problem! Simply re-post your info here. Just trying to keep our list up-to-date.
So, any updates? What's on your mind this week? Anything else you want to share or ask your fellow bedrest moms?
GTKY: Do you feel like bed rest has changed any of your relationships (w/ your H, your family, friends, etc.)? If so, how?
Re: Weekly bedrest check-in, Friday 10/19
I am due11/14, the doc is removing my cerclage in a week. Technically, I am off bed rest but since I have chronic high blood pressure I put myself on modify bed rest. Does that make sense?
Ladies, how do you handle horniness? The other morning I asked DH if I can peek at his penis, just to remind me what it looks like. The OB told me that we can do the 'deed' after he removes the cerclage but DH did not seem excited. I am extremely horny and need a 'great' way to channel my energy.
GTKY: I am more in love with DH now than before bed rest; I was worried how he would handle fatherhood after 14.5 weeks of taking care of me, I'm worry-free.
A friend I thought I was close with has yet to even call me, she's also pregnant but has no complications- we have a mutal friend. I am hurt but trying to convince myself that she's just busy.
I am due March 8, 2012, On team Pink (after three boys!). Her name is Josilynn Elizabeth. I was on Modified Bed Rest since 16 weeks, then at 19 weeks was put on strict BR due to preterm labor and shortening of the cervix.
GTKY: Do you feel like bed rest has changed any of your relationships (w/ your H, your family, friends, etc.)? If so, how? My mother has really stepped up to help me since my husband works a lot. She is not a very giving person, so this is huge for her. We are so much closer now.
Due Date, team green/blue/pink with name if you want, type of bedrest, gestational age when you went on bedrest, why you went on bedrest, other high risk issues.
Hi! I thought I did this, but I must be losing my mind.....haha! I'm Amanda, due 12/28, team pink! I am on modified bedrest starting at 29w for high BP and protein-mild pre-e.
I am looking forward to keeping sane at home by checking in with you ladies! There are a lot of things coming up that make it seem like the time will fly (Halloween, shower, Thanksgiving). I am hoping that the time in between those goes quick ; )
I don't think bed rest has changed my relationship, yet. It might but I feel that I am still an active wife from home even though I'm not working. I think it helps to feel that I can still do some things for us and not make him feel burdened.
'I loved you for a thousand years and I will love you for a thousand more'
I am due 2/4/13. Tea pink-Layna Rose I was put on modified bed rest at 21 weeks due to PIH, SVT, and NCS with recurrent fainting episodes upon standing/sitting. I will likely be on modified BR or activity restrictions the remainder of my pregnancy. OB believes I will likely be induced at 37 weeks depending on how my heart behaves.
I have been doing a lot of crafts this week and trying to organize as much as possible when I am out of bed. I have only had one visitor since being put on BR and that is really getting to me. I can't help but feel so alone sometimes. I am sure this feeling is normal and will pass eventually. Just trying to keep my eyes on the prize of holding my little girl.
GTKY: My DH has been working so much we haven't really seen each other. That is frustrating to say the least, but totally necessary with me not working. (I was in my final internship at school) My grandma has really stepped up and tries her best to come see me often/entertain me in some way. She has also helped out with the cooking/cleaning. As for friends...what friends? They always say it's time of trial you find out who your real friends are...I guess I don't have any, lol. Not one of them has come to see me in over 4 weeks and they only thing I hear from them is an occasional like on a Facebook status /photo. So, I guess my relationships with the people around me for the most part have been hindered by bed rest. Sad, but true. I am hoping that it will get better though!
Due 2/1/13. Team PINK! Modified bedrest starting at 23 weeks. Cerclage placed at 22w6d.
Had a follow up appt yesterday and the dr said he would feel better if I didn't go back to work....so that's the plan. It sucks but I know it's for the best.
I'm definitely going to have to take up a hobby. And I'll probably be doing most of my Christmas shopping online.

GTKY: I have a friend that comes for lunch everyday during the week, I am so lucky to have her! On the flip side, another friend I have not seen once and have only talked to once on the phone, guess it teaches you who can be counted on. My DH and I are finally adjusting, there were some growing pains to start.
This week has been rather annoying. I have been in an ill mood because I haven't slept much. I thought bed rest meant REST though I never seem to rest because laying down all the time just makes me feel stiff and miserable!
Gtky: I think bed rest has changed some things between hubby and I because we are used to being on the go all the time and haven't got the hang of this yet. It hasn't changed too much between friends and family. They come see me or we go to their house since I can just sit back and relax there too.
I am in a worrying mood today after my appointment yesterday. The dr. Started by saying no signs of pre-e just HBP so good news and she would consider letting me get close to due date. But then she took my measurement said I was only measuring 32 weeks and sent me for an U/S. Now I am anxiously awaiting my next appt. on Monday and trying not to panic every time the baby gets quiet. (he is moving around a lot so i know it is all in my head) bed rest just gives you too much time to worry.
GTKY: It has only been a full week, but DH who is normally non existent in the fall (coaching football) has been doing a great job of checking in on me and picking up slack around the house even though he is hardly home.
Saw the Dr this week- while my dilation is still at 3cm my cervix is apparently "tissue paper thin." Unfortunately she doesn't think there is much of a chance of me making it to 34 weeks, but that is the "goal." Realistically we are focusing on 32 weeks. I am now on strict bedrest until I deliver....FORTUNATELY, I live 2min from the hospital so she let me go home!
Hi there! I'm late to this, but would love to join!
Due date: 2/11/13, but we won't make it this far - I need to have a c-section no later than 35 weeks (which will be January 7, 2013)
Team Pink!
Strict bedrest at home, but headed to the hospital on Monday (24 weeks) where I'll be for the duration of this pregnancy.
Went on bedrest at 21 weeks for unexplained low fluid, marginal placenta previa (which has since moved), but mostly Vasa Previa.
I've been bleeding for 2 weeks now... Very stressful, but hoping some of the stress subsides once I'm in the hospital. I had a totally natural homebirth with my DS, so this world of hospitals, multiple sonograms, interventions, medicines, and c-sections is totally new (and very scary) to me. One day at a time!
TheBump ate my profile. Oh well. New and improved.
So, any updates? What's on your mind this week? Anything else you want to share or ask your fellow bedrest moms?
Just relieved that I had a good appt on Thursday. Cervix measured about a 2.5. I was so worried they were gonna keep me for monitoring, or worse yet check me in for the duration of my pregnancy! Going home Thursday really felt like a blessing. Especially since I had planned a surprise party for DH and didn't want to have to cancel it! It went off without a hitch thanks to one very awesome friend.
GTKY: Do you feel like bed rest has changed any of your relationships (w/ your H, your family, friends, etc.)? If so, how?
At first DH and I were arguing a lot. This is a big stress on a relationship, so if you're new to bedrest give it some time. Now, while he still irritates me a bit bc he doesn't do things the way I would
, I can let go and let it be for the most part.
We have a few friends that have really stepped up which is so awesome. Yet there are others who have only visited once (I have been on bedrest a LONG time) or who haven't come at all. I get that they are busy with their own lives...but still can't help but feel a little disappointed.
Just want to say welcome to all the newbs; I'll add you to the list! Bed rest is tough but doable, so have faith!
I feel ya! It is really tough. Poor DH; we have played around some but it turns me on and then I just get "achy" down there which worries me. I am really hoping my Dr. okays sex after the cerclage comes out but I haven't asked yet because I'm too scared she'll say no!
I seriously feel like a teenage boy- I have to actively divert my mind to "gross" things to stop thinking about sex.
I would like to join again.
Due 12/7/12, team blue, modified bed rest again as of 10/15, "cervical insufficiency" found at 18 weeks, PTL stopped with magnesium at 32 weeks
I thought that I was in the clear because all of the fetal Fibronectin's were negative. I guess I was not. I'm scared now. We were getting so close to term, now it feels forever away. Went back to the hospital on Sunday with contractions again. Was given nifedipine to take home this time. Was told if labor doesn't stop with that, though, then they will just "catch the baby."
