My lo is 4 months old now and my DH and I think it's time for him to move into his crib. He sleeps in a rnp now and is quickly outgrowing it. I have a Sunza Halo he wears and a video monitor but I'm still really nervous about it. And whenever we try him in it he screams. So, my questions are when did you transition your lo to their crib? And do you have any advice to help make the transition easier for both him and me? I'm a mess about not having him sleeping next to me at night.
TIA
Re: Transitioning to crib-help needed
We made the transition about 2.5 weeks ago. She used the RnP for only a couple weeks and then was in the PnP. From day 1 we would change, play, rock, eat, etc in her room so she was very used to the environment. I would also let her hang out and play in her crib if I needed a minute to do something. Before we made the full transition we started having her nap in the crib.
She did really well and had no issues making the switch. She moves around a ton in her sleep and there she actually has the room vs in her PnP. DH slept on the floor in her room the first night but she was fine. Our rooms share a wall and we have a video monitor which I love!
I found that I actually sleep better too. My "mommy ears" always alert me but I am not waking up at every little sound and her mid-night chat sessions aren't so loud.
