Lets talk mattresses

So we have our crib in the nursery now, which is crazy to me. I started researching mattresses and I can't find one I'm set on. I'm not trying to pay an arm and leg but I also will spend money for good quality and safety. For those of you who already bought a mattress what brand did you get and why?

I bought dd#1 a  firm Sealy mattress.  I don't remember what the ratings were then, but it was a good one and 3 years later it is still in excellent firm condition.  When it was time to get a new one for this baby, I just bought the same one.  It's on amazon I think for about $80 bucks.

 I read reviews and, being cheap, went for the best reviewed, free shipping and cheapest from Amazon. It arrived yesterday and seems plenty firm and fits perfectly in our crib. I measured the dimensions of the crib once we had it put together and compared that to the dimensions listed for the mattress to make sure there wasn't too big of a size issue.Happy shopping!

I agree with rsolsem.  That's the exact matress we're getting but I haven't ordered it yet.  Cheap but really awesome reviews.  I can't even remember what kind of matress we got for DS's crib.  I know it came from target and it wasn't the cheapest but wasn't the most expensive.  It's been fine for us but I'm pretty sure this one on amazon is about $30 less.

My in laws offered to buy our mattress. I was looking at this one at BRU but didnt know anything about it. Apparently they bought it. They said they checked it out and the reviews are really good. Organic was something semi important to me but very important to them. This seems like a pretty good mattress, I hope!
