Re: Advice on these toys?

  • DD has the little purse and LOVES it. The only one I would consider returning is the scoop and whirl popper. I have heard that most kids aren't interested in it. DD's little friend has something similar to it and they were bored with it within a few minutes.
  • We have the purse and elephant popper. E loves both. She loves putting the balls in the elephant and turning it on. The bad about the elephant, the batteries run out quickly and it is kind of loud. And we always seem to be misplacing the balls.

  • LBB got the mega blocks for his birthday and if he hadn't they would have been on his Holiday wish list.

He LOVES them.  Even though right now that means he loves opening the bag, pulling them out and dumping them out, and then putting them back in the bag. (or putting them through his whacky ball set, like he does with everything that fits in those holes)  It keeps him entertained for a fairly long time.

In fact, when DH and I get ready in the morning, we bring out the bag and let him go crazy while one of us showers and the other gets dressed.

  • A friend of mine had something very similar to that elephant, and DD LOVED it.  I wish I had known that one existed, because I would have bought it for her for her bday.   I was looking for the one that my friend had and it was discontinued.

For us, I would keep the elephant and return the rest.

  • Levi doesnt like toys but he got the mega blocks last week and he plays with them alot

  • Am I the only one that hates you cannot find replacement balls anywhere? I had a ball popper from Playskool that would shoot the ball in the air, catch in the tray, swirl around in the chute, and get popped back out. All of the balls have been lost and you cannot find any online or in stores.

DD lost all her balls from another toy. She now attempts to stick her Little People in the thing. Poor poor Little Poeple..

We got something similar, and it is loud.  However, Nora loves it!  She loves to put all things in it to pop around as well.

Have you contacted Playskool about that?  I couldn't find replacement lids for Tommee Tippee and their customer service sent me free ones.

  • We have the Elefun elephant game and the mega blocks. My kids love both! The mega blocks we have such a blast with and the Elephant ball popper is literally DS's favorite toy. Yes the balls come out and sometimes gets lost but we always find them. I do a ball count every evening to see where they ended up.
  • blocks are the only thing I'd keep on that list.
  • Mega Blocks are essential.  Kids ADORE them and they are also good teethers.

If the Elephant works like the Busy ball popper, it's hilarious and the kids love it.

DD had the purse and loved it for about a month and didn't really play with it after that.

The other toy I have never seen before so no idea.

  • I have heard of a lot of recalls for megablocks.  I know their biggest recall had to do with high levels of lead.

  • I would definitely keep the Megablocks. DS just loves his and he plays with them everyday.

  • I would only keep the purse. My kids had a ball popper that I eventually stopped putting batteries in so I could tell them "It's dead" and not have to hear it/pick balls up all over the house. My kids like mega blocks, but love lego duplo. The duplos fit together tighter, so in a year or 2 when they actually want to build stuff, it is sturdier.
