My mom in law suggested a infant positioner to switch her around when she laysnflat...ive also heard these are now a hazard. How does one prevent this flat back of head that comes up?
Well, you can physically move her head to different sides when you put her down. And if you wear her or hold her more than lay her down, that really helps.

This. Wearing her in a carrier is the best way to do this. Also, you can prop her ever so slightly on her side by rolling up a receiving blanket and propping it under her hip (alternate). Also, try laying her at alternating ends of the crib/bassinet for sleeping and naps. Do tummy time. Carry her, have hernap in your chest. Avoid leaving her in a car seat (travel "bucket") RnP or swing for extended periods of time.
Paulson, infants have a reflex where they will turn their heads towards whichever arm is outstretched, so you could try that too.
