5 Weeks Pregnant

Hungry

5 weeks pregnant and starving. Does anyone else want to eat everything in site? I keep hearing about all these people who have nausea an no appetite. I'm usually a one meal a day type of person. I am usually a thin person, but bloated and look like I'm 3 months pregnant. My only symptoms are my breast size has doubled and they are sensitive. I have had mild period type cramping for 2 weeks. Is this normal to bloat and have such a big appetite this early. I've been doing my best to try to eat healthy as I snack. My new favorite treat is low fat string cheese.

  • Almost 5 weeks here. My problem is that I'm super hungry all the time, but have no desire to eat anything in particular.....it's like I'm hungry but have no real appetite for food. And, yes, the mild cramping is normal. I'm tired a lot and my boobs are really tender....and have already gone up a cup size. It's all worth it, though! :
  • Hi,  I am 5 weeks as well, could eat all the time, bloated and got 1 size bigger bras already. I have started to drink milk, it is unusual as i cant stand milk normally. Tried goats milk today, i thought it was amazing! I could not drink it before. I have to get up between 4-5 am every day in the last 7 days and have to have breakfast as i have this unbelivable hunger on me then i go back to bed. :)
  • Hi, I'm also 5 weeks and feeling the need to eat constantly. I'm just trying to make good choices about what I snack on. However, I am having a major sweet craving in the evening. Bloated? Ha Ha so me. I've moved up a size in jeans just to feel a little normal. Not ready to buy maternity stuff yet but if I keep eating this way it will happen sooner than later. I read somewhere to eat cheese or nuts to help keep hunger down which may help keep nausea away.

  • Same same and same! Bloated, hungry, sometimes I find myself almost wondering where the heck the food goes!!! After I finished eating lunch or a snack, my stomach gurgles and feels empty again.. lol. I have not found the balance between eating when your hungry because we are indeed needing more food or just craving something...Glad to know Im not alone. :)

    5 weeks and starving all day long. To help with my hunger I turn to yogurt and fruits as snacks but I do end up eating pretty bad for dinner, usually pasta. I have gained about 3 lbs in the last 2 weeks. I don't drink any soda just water and some times tea and I stay at around 1,500 cal a day but I still seem to be gaining weight really fast. It's showing in my stomach so now my work pants don't fit like they once did. I have to start looking for maternity pants because mine are starting to hurt my stomach and since I have period like cramps it doesn't make the situation and more comfortable.

    I had IVF done and after surgery it seemed like my stomach became very bloated and never went down so yes i look 3 months pregnant as well LOL and my boobs feel like they have been beaten up, especially in the morning, they feel so hard and extremely sore beyond anything I ever imagined!

  • I too have been feeling the same way. I had an iui and I'm about 5 weeks along, but find out for sure next week during my first prenatal appt. After my iui, I'm always hungery, tired, moody.and swelled up with the hcg injection. My swelling never went down after the iui. This past weekend I had to buy maternity pants because all my other pants were tight and hurt my stomach. I'm afraid to weigh myself because I feel that I've already gained some pounds and I'm only in my 5th week.

  • I feel (almost) the same way. I'm five weeks along and I feel like I could eat Wal-Mart out of their food, while the same time feeling SO nauseous and puke-y. Not the best of combos. I have cramps too that never go away but aren't painful, just there and it worries me sometimes, especially since I haven't been able to go to the doctors yet....Hopefully when I do go they'll give me some answers!!
  • Hungry all the time and if I don't eat I get sick to my stomach. I'm very tired but not sleeping great. I have to pee all the time. I'm about five weeks I think but my first appt isn't until Friday. Glad to hear this is all just part of it.
  • Hello everyone this is my 4th pregnancy but at 5 weeks I dont understand why I am no hungary. I can usually  eat breakfast and go all do without aything else. Now I find myself eating constantly and if I don't then my stomach gets queasy. I dont want to gain alot of weight early so then people will start asking how far are you.. lol and get on my nerves.
  • Hey I also am at 5 weeks. I feel like I eat 12 times a day! Haha but I am never really satisfied when I do eat. I have been slightly nausciated but it goes away quickly. This is my first baby and I am excited but very nervous!!
  • I am the same way. I am 5 weeks pregnant & it's like I have to eat everything in site! I'm so bloated I look like I'm already 4 months pregnant. My breasts are severely tender and i have abdominal pain so you are not alone.

     

     

     


  • Thanks god it's not just me. I thought it was all in my head that chocolate and cookies looked better than ever. I'm trying to fight it still because I don't want to gain 100 lbs. 

    my breasts have also grown and hurt, it's crazy how fast things change.  

  • I too am bloating, like a pre-period bloat.  Before I even took a pregnancy test I started having food cravings and would talk about all the different types of food that sounded good; never actually got my hands on them though.  I have also been having cramps I have read that this is normal and is caused by the uterus hardening and grow, plus the baby attaching to the uterus.  Congratulations by the way!  My boobs are still the same; big boobs was the one side effect I was look forward too. LOL. I've read that during your first trimester you only need 100 extra calories a day, 250 for 2nd, and 300 for third (this is for a single pregnancy).

  • I love this. This is my life. I look and feel gigantic, but it's really no wonder considering I can barely go 2 hours without consuming something. The trick I've found is to pack about 235 healthy snacks. I just keep blueberries, carrots, whatever on my desk so I'm not scrounging around for literally chocolate and donuts. Haha .. 9 more months?? 
  • I ate 5 meals a day before getting pregnant (about 5 weeks now). I find myself hungry every 1 to 2 hours so instead of eating more I just made my meals smaller and eat more of them. Working for me so far.
  • I'm hungry way more often but I feel full quicker. The twingy cramps get worse if I eat too much so i'm trying to snack. I also like string cheese, Meijer fruit/nut chewy granola bars or motts fruit  snacks (most amazing fruit snacks ever!)

  • I'm STARVING all the time. Even right after I eat a big meal. I'm trying to eat healthy and smart so that kinda limits me, but I just really really want chocolate! I'm going to have to go buy me a bag of Snickers!
