Preemies

Is this reflux?

We switched to Nutramigen just over a week ago because LO would scream from gas. It's really helped with gas, but now he's been taking about half the bottle and then starts inconsolably crying. We thought it might be teething because it started at his last feed, but it's started happening with almost every bottle. He'll cry for about 10-15 min before we're able to calm him down (the pacifier sometimes helps) and then we can usually get a little more formula down him.

We just manage to get the minimum amt of formula in him daily and it doesn't seem to be affecting weight gain (yet). He's almost always propped up for his bottle so so I didn't think of reflux at first, but I hate having him crying so hard in the middle of every bottle.

Is he arching his back at all? nbsp; It's possible that he could be refluxing, so it probably wouldn't hurt to give your pedi a call and get it checked out.

This. Though I would like to add that DD has a reflux disorder and along with arching her back she will appear to be choking for a couple seconds, even with nothing in her mouth. I'm not sure the signs of mild reflux as hers is severe, but definitely call the pedi.
