I was on the pill when I nursed my son for a year.  The week I stopped nursing I got pregnant on it.  Not that I didn't want my daughter but I just wanted to plan my last pregnancy.  This time im using mirana so I don't have to worry about anything till we are for sure ready.

This is bad advice. You can ovulate when nursing.

I have the Mirena IUD and it's been great, doesn't affect nursing at all.  I had it for 3 years before we started TTC and I had no complaints then either.
