So about a month ago I purchased a living social deal for a "basic horseback trail ride for two".nbsp; DH and I are/were planning on doing this in November for our anniversary and really looking forward to it.nbsp; Now that we are pg, not sure if it is such a good idea. We thought about giving it away, but wouldn't know what to say if asked why we can't go its a voucher to be used by march since we don't want to tell anyone until Nov after our u/s. I guess the options are cross fingers Dr approves, forfeit the money paid, or tell someone, that is unless you ladies can help me come up with something else! What would you do? TIA!

My BFP Chart
As an avid horseback rider who has talked to her OB and vastly researched this, horseback riding is like any "activity" that should not be done during pregnancy unless you did it beforehand. It takes some crazy reactive muscles, body positioning and core strength to stay on if your mount freaks out. It takes a split second for a horse to react and throw a rider, and that is not a risk worth taking. All it needs to do is decide it wants to turn on a dime and change direction on you and off you go. Or it stepped on a stick that tapped its belly and it leaps 10 feet in the air and you never even had the chance to TRY to stay on... All you know is you are flying through the air (yep... This happened to me last summer and I have rode for over 14 years).
If you had said you had been riding for years and were deciding if you should keep riding or not, I would have encouraged you to ride until you were comfy. I am 22 weeks and rode this past Sunday. I plan on riding as long as the weather is good and I can manage to get on my horse. Mind you, my horse (yes, the same one who threw me last summer) is well trained and we ride lightly... And I make that choice every time I get on. My answer to you would be to call the ranch and ask for an expiry date extension (they may not even accept pregnant riders), or possibly sell it to a friend or on eBay
