Pediatric Dentist Recommendations

Does anyone have a recommendation for a pediatric dentist?  DD1 will need to have her first visit soon.  I'm in the Cottage Grove area, but would be willing to go 20-30 miles in any direction from there.

I prefer to take my DS to our regular dentist, Dr Jan Fredrick of Mendota Dental. The staff there are really easy on the little ones. What they do first is show the tools to the child, then they start to clean their teeth. The suction straw was the tool that scared my DS. The staff didn't wait until he was done crying to go further because they don't expect to do a full cleaning on the first visit. My DS also sat in the dentist chair himself. There is room for one parent to sit in with the child so they don't get too scared of all the tools that surround the chair. I hope this helps!

I am a pediatric dental assistant. I would def rec going to one rather than a general dentist. I have worked in both settings and they are 2 very different settings. As opposed to having a private room they use the open bay concept so that they are sitting with other kids getting cleanings done too. It makes it less intimidating if it's the first visit.
