Daycare Diaper Disaster

DH picked up our LO from DC this evening and promptly sent me a text & said "Your son pooped on (insert his afternoon DC teacher's name here) today! She had to go home and change clothes!" Oh and whenever DS does something naughty or in this case NASTY...we call him "Your Son".

Anyways, I know I shouldn't have......but I burst into laughter! I feel badly because she had to go home and change but then again I don't feel so badly because she probably should've changed him before the diaper EXPLODED!

Just thought I would share! Anyone else have a similar embarrassing/funny DC story to tell?

Re: Daycare Diaper Disaster

  • I worked in DC in my college days and I always kept a change of clothes around for these instances.

  • DD1 had so many poopslosions I bought her infant teachers new tshirts once. It can be a hazardous occupation.

This was exactly what I was thinking! I'm surprised the daycare provider didn't have clothes in her car or stored somewhere in the classroom. I was an infant/toddler teacher in my early twenties and always kept a change of clothes in the car. I was glad I did the day a 1 year old puked on me.

  • That's true!

I wonder why she doesn't keep a change of clothes in her trunk. I guess DS taught her a lesson.

DD did this to one of her DC teachers when she was smaller too. I also found it hilarious!

Seriously. If you are unprepared for an obvious occupational hazard - I don't feel bad for you in the least!

My family is a Foreign Service family. Families like mine are posted in every corner of the globe. We live our lives away from family, friends and the conviences and comforts of home. We often live and work in dangerous places among those that misunderstand our intentions and purposes. Sometimes members of our ranks sacrifice our lives to further diplomacy.  Please remember that we serve too. And I'm always open to questions.

  • My DD has had an explosive diaper on the teacher at daycare too when she was smaller and they had to go home and change. And I know another one of the babies had reflux so bad that she pretty much would spit up her entire bottle after every feeding and a lady had to change her clothes from that. So it definately happens alot. I am just grateful that DD never had it bad enough when at home with me that I had to change my clothes. I usually would catch it in time. I have had to change hers a few times though. Around teething time they have more explosive diapers.

  • I'm a bit surprised that someone who works with infants doesn't have a back up outfit or two.
  • DD has gotten 2 of her daycare teachers and her pediatrician!  She also has had explosions so bad that she's had to have to full baths in the sink in her classroom - including washing her hair!  Oh yes...she takes after her daddy!
