Sorry, but this is a bit of a vent. My pediatrician told me that he thought we were certain to get synagis... and then told me that he "was pretty sure" that he had our acceptance letter on his desk at our last appointment. Then I got a call saying we were denied. My son is right on the cusp of being approved (32 weeks, 0 days and under six months at the start of rsv season... but no siblings or daycare). We are hoping to appeal on the basis of my son's heart defect, but I gather that we are unlikely to win (because my son does not receive medication for his heart defect... even though it is a situation we are monitoring every few months with a possible need for open heart surgery before the age of two). I guess I'm just really upset right now because I thought we had the approval in hand, and now I'm worried about this winter. I figured that you all were more likely to understand that most of my family and friends...
