Anyone else's kid boycotting the crib? Gator freaks out in the crib but will sleep on the floor. She has been sleeping in her crib for the past 9....almost 10mo. I'm half tempted to take apart her crib and leave a mattress on the floor.
G is doing this as well. I am tempted to try having her sleep in a PnP again to see if it will help. Just the mere mention of the word "crib" brings her to (literal) tears.

We moved E to a toddler bed by 15 months. I just made sure he could go.down the stairs. Lo doesn't mind the crib and is more into things so we'll probably wait longer.
Good to know! I think I am just really worried about jumping into it because we have baseboard heating and at night we turn it on, I don't want her getting up and either burning herself on it or accidentally dropping something flammable on it and causing a fire.
We have done a floor bed since 6 months in his totally child proof bed room. Google the phrase montessori floor bed for some great tips and ideas!
Us too. She had a smaller size crib that someone gave us and by 6 months she was bumping against the rails every time she turned over. Her floor bed setup is California queen size, LOL.
We just bought N a tempurpedic full size bed for his birthday. We coslept until he was 11 months old and then he and I slept on a mattress on his floor, hoping to transition him to his crib but he hated it. So this past weekend, we packed away the super expensive crib with organic mattress that he never used, and bought him a really good mattress and he loves it. More importantly, I love it since I end up on the floor with him somewhere after 1am. I also love the fact that he can read books, climb around his bedroom without my having to fly up the stairs the second he woke up. When we were cosleeping, I was always worried he would crawl too quickly to the end, for me to catch him.

we had baseboard heat too and I was worried about the same thing. if you get one of those octagon baby cages, you can put it around the floor bed when the heat is turned on and that will keep her in the bed away form the heat boards. if you have enough sections to go around the bed just attach it to the wall on each side like a half circle. oh good idea! We actually have two of those put together into a 12 panel one. We call it the "kid corral"
