Completely effaced yet nothing?

I know people get really irritated about these posts so I've held off on writing this for several days now, but I just have to ask.  Has anyone had any experience with being 100% effaced?  I feel like most people are 50% or 70% or whatever and are told it means nothing, but I can't help but wonder if maybe being 100% gets you a little closer?

 I am 100% effaced and at 0 station, but only 1cm dilated.  I've been this way since at least Thursday though so I guess I've answered my own question, but I'd really love to hear from others who have had the same experience or know someone who has been here.  I can't find much on Google.  My doctor told me it would be any moment and I wouldn't make it to my due date.  Such a total mind f*ck.  I actually wouldn't care so much if I didn't have tremendous back pain (not contractions) that's preventing me from getting any sleep!  I'm just so over this.

That was me with my first son!  I was completely effaced and he hung out at 0 station for a long time prior to my due date.  You aren't going to like this, but I ended up going into labor 9 days after my due date.  Unfortunately, cervical changes don't necessarily mean that labor is close, but if you are very effaced and baby is super low, that is a good sign that when labor starts, it should move along pretty quickly if he's positioned well.  Hang in there!  It's tough!

Any sort of progress is a good thing. But honestly unless your 10cm and 100 percent then it's just a waiting game. There is such a huge range of what women were when they went into labor that it will just drive you crazy analyzing.
