This service deducts all of the nanny's taxes, and ours as well. So we pay $15.50 an hour, and I think it works out to be about $700 a week with our taxes worked in. Nanny takes home somewhere in the $500's.
I do this all myself. I don't have state taxes, but should be similar.
I have a spreadsheet set up with formulas for the current week's payroll as well as the YTD totals. I think direct deposit monthly via EFTPS.
I use intuit online payroll, $20/month. The first 2-3 months were only $10.
I like it, it did take some time to setup and file all the necessary forms, but it is a breeze to use every payday. Now I just enter hours and it tracks everything, it even supports multiple pay rates.
I like that it tracks state and federal taxes, and reminds me when they're due. It will also prepare a W2 for us at the end of the year.
Hours vary, but nanny usually gets something between $400-600 and takes home $400-500 a week.
Re: Another Nanny question
We use nannychex.com. It's ~$6 per week, I think.
