Baby bib ?

Do you or did you use the same bib for a drooling teething child as you did to feed them? Not like, the same exact bib, but did you use a "special" one to catch drool vs to cover clothes while feeding? Like an all cloth one vs one with plastic backing etc...

Re: Baby bib ?

  • I used different ones for feeding and drooling. The feeding ones tend to get stained and the drooling ones I matched to her outfits.

Did your drooling ones have that plastic lining?
DD is a drool machine at the moment and I'm wondering if all cloth would be more comfortable or if plastic lining would keep drool off her better. I honestly don't remember what I did for DS

Nope, I never used bibs with a plastic backing. We had a few of the Apple Tree Boutique bibs and the rest of our bibs were terry on the back and they worked fine. Check out ATB on etsy; she specializes in bibs for heavy droolers. :)

  • We used those smaller, cloth bibs for droooling and the plastic/vinyl/whatever that is for eating.

I've never heard of apple tree bibs. Just checked them out super cute, hope they work as well as reviewed... Will for sure try them, thanks!

  • DS didn't ever drool a lot but did spit up a good bit.  We used Aden and Anais burpy bibs and did use them for both spit up and feeding for a while.  Later for feeding, we switched to Bumpkins and then a different pocket bib.

Apple Tree Bibs are the best. Scoutkate recommended them when our babes were little and started a frenzy. They are super cute and really do a jam up job at catching drool.

    just ordered some! Big Smile

No way... Couple were nms but they, in general, are super cute!
  • I have some plastic bibs for feeding but honestly, I prefer the ATB bibs for everything. I've never had a problem washing food out of them.

I am using different bibs for drooling and feeding. For drooling days, I have some non-absorbent bibs or regular bibs if my toddler doesn't drool that much, but if she does I go for the most absorbent one. Just  to avoid changing of outfit each time it gets wet. And for feeding, I have three thermoplastic baby bibs with a pocket (also known as a crumb catcher). One for every mealtime. I could say that these baby bibs I am using for my dearest toddler are the best baby bibs ever.
  • My favorite bibs were Aden and Anais (especially the bamboo bibs) for everyday.  For nursing or bottles, the Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Milk Feeding Bib was the best (the thicker neck absorbed more).  I preferred washing cloth bibs when my boys started baby food/solids, but the Baby Bjorn soft bib works great for catching foods.  For baby drool, I usually matched outfits or used the Aden and Anais bibs.
  • Glad I scrolled back up before I posted my response.
